Everything You Need to Know About the Sage 100 2025 Update

The recently-released Sage 100 Version 2025 has many new powerful features added, including Expanded AR Invoice Number, Purchase Order Quotes, Sales Order Audit Tracking, and Purchase Order Audit Tracking. In addition to these major features, Sage has included a myriad of “quick win” improvements, many of which were requested by the 90minds members. It’s great to see that Sage Development has looked to the Sage 100 community for new feature ideas, and I can honestly say that this is the best Sage 100 release in many years.

Here is a list of the new features added in the 2025 version of Sage 100:

A/R and S/O Invoice Number Expansion : In this version, the user has the ability to expand the AR/SO Invoice Number up to 20 characters. A new setting in Comon Information Options allows the user to set the invoice number to their desired length. Once set, the user can increase it again at a later time, but you cannot decrease the length. A utility exists to update existing numeric invoice numbers to be padded with leading zeros.

Purchase Order Quotes: A new Purchase Order Type has been added in this version: Quotes. The user can now create Purchase Order Quotes and assign multiple Vendors to the Quote to be printed and delivered via a new Quote Printing. Standard Purchase Orders can then be created from Quotes for the preferred Vendor from Purchase Order Entry, or from the new Auto Generate From Quotes menu item.

Sales Order and Purchase Order Audit Tracking: The Audit Tracking features that we have had for Vendors, Customers, Items, and GL Accounts has now been extended to Purchase Order Entry and Sales Order Entry. Additions, Changes, and Deletions are tracked for Header, Detail, and Lot Serial Distribution entries.

GL Reversing Entry Date: The user now was the ability to use the Original Posting Date when doing a General Journal Entry reversal.

Cancel Reason Code Required: In Purchase Order and Sales Order Entry, you can now make the Cancel Reason Code required in order to delete the order.

Customer Maintenance: The Last Invoice Date and Last Invoice Amount fields have been added to the Statistics Tab.

Sales Order and S/O Invoice Data Entry: The Customer Phone Number has been added to Data Entry panels.

Inventory Trial Balance: An option has been added to exclude Items with Zero Balance.

Physical Count Reports: The ability to Sort by Product Line has been added.

Purchase Order and Sales Order Form Printing: The Extended Item Description is now available to print.

P/O Return of Goods: An option to not Backorder the PO when an Item is returned.

Paperless Office: Form Codes can now be saved by Customer/Vendor.

Visual Integrator: Temp Fields that are added to Import/Export can now be named.

Item Maintenance: UPC / EAN fields have been added to the Additional Tab.

A/P Invoice Payment Selection: Invoice Selection has been enhanced to allow toggle between List View and Grid View, with ctl-shift enabled in List View to select multiple invoices to pay.

A/R Cash Receipts Entry: The display of Credit Hold Message has been added. invoices to pay.

Production Management: Alphanumeric Revision Numbers, Template Description associated with Step 000000, Attachments associated with Steps, hand Copy/Renumber Step are some of the features added to Sage 100’s newest module.
